Building Research Programs on a Foundation of Equity

Abstract

Description

This Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness panel presentation will briefly overview the EF+Math Program, the equity guiding principles, and the essentials of the inclusive R&D process used to develop, test, and refine new prototype learning systems and how it differs from traditional approaches to school-based research. Each panelist describes their role on the project and highlights some key aspects of their work as it inspires attention to equity. The panel closes with a discussion to answer questions about the EF+Math ecosystem and share thoughts on how to further center equity in their own school-based research. Panelists enlist attendees to think about potential challenges and solutions in using an Inclusive R&D approach in testing the promise of new products for improving EF and math skills.
